As a continuation of completing the necessary pre-operative diagnostic tests, your Eye Surgeon will perform your final pre-operative examination. During this examination, your Eye Surgeon will examine your eyes for the last time. And this will show you, how your vision will improve after the surgery. Your Eye Surgeon will have a final interview with you about your surgery. If you are considered a suitable candidate for surgery by your surgeon, you can discuss with him/her one last time the proposed procedure, benefits, potential risks and consequences, as well as alternatives to vision correction based on the proposed procedure. After considering all relevant issues, you can prepare for Eye Surgery based on your approval.
12. Your surgical team will do everything in their power to help you feel comfortable and you can be sure that they will address any concerns you may have. Before surgery, they will keep you informed of every step of the procedure so you know exactly what to expect.
In Eye surgery, both or one of your eye/s are operated at the same time. The surgery can take about five to ten minutes per eye. Since our surgical team will apply local anesthetic drops into your eye, you will not feel any pain during the treatment, although you will be awake throughout the operation.
13. Your eyes are covered or patched after the Surgery. You will continue to see even if it is blurry after the surgery. After the surgery, you will need to go home and rest in a dark room as possible for 5-6 hours.
When your surgery is over, your Eye Surgeon will immediately check your eyes one last time and evaluate the results. A member of the surgical care team will take you to a private recovery room to rest for couple of minutes. You will be given post-operative care instructions and eye drops, and you will also be told what to expect in the early stages of recovery. Your next day care appointment will be scheduled and then you will be allowed to go home.
After Laser Eye Surgery
14. Pre-Op First day control appointment.
It is very important that you attend your first day follow-up appointments after the surgery. Our surgical team is required to perform a complete eye evaluation to ensure your eyes are healing as expected.
15. Post-operative check-ups
After Eye Surgery, you should continue to protect your eye health. We would like to state that each of our patients is responsible for performing the necessary post-operative care on their own and using their medications correctly. The next day after your aftercare appointment, our clinical team will check your eye health for the next 1 month and 3 months and will tell you what to do.
16. Make sure to have your eye examination every year.
An eye exam is necessary not only to check your vision, but also to monitor the overall health of your eyes. Many health conditions can be detected during an eye exam. At Vizyon Eye Hospital, a comprehensive assessment of each patient’s visual health is performed, including state-of-the-art screening for diseases. Be sure to have your diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and macular degeneration tests done before they become a bigger health problem. If the diagnosis of such diseases is delayed, it can create situations that can lead to serious vision loss.
