Our Experienced Eye Surgeons and Doctors
Our eye surgeons and other specialist doctors at Vizyon Eye Hospital specialise in treating recognised eye diseases and visual defects. Our ophthalmologists focus on general eye disease treatment, laser eye surgery, cataract surgery, and posterior and anterior segment treatments.
However, we do more than perform eye surgery. Together with our ophthalmologists, we work to improve eye treatments by researching and applying treatment techniques and technologies.
Our doctors develop examination, treatment and follow-up plans by considering the patient’s eye health and needs together. Treatment options, expected benefits and possible risks are discussed individually; no procedure can guarantee a perfect result.
Dr Ümit Atik, a founder of Vizyon Eye Hospital, was born in Mut in 1965.
He graduated from Konya Anatolian High School in 1983 and the English-language medical programme at Hacettepe University in 1989. That same year, he ranked fifth nationally in TUS, the Medical Specialisation Examination.
He completed ophthalmology specialist training at Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine between 1989 and 1993.
In 1997, he worked on cataract, glaucoma and phacoemulsification at the Augen Klinik der Universität München.
He graduated from Konya Anatolian High School in 1983 and the English-language medical programme at Hacettepe University in 1989. That same year, he ranked fifth nationally in TUS, the Medical Specialisation Examination.
He completed ophthalmology specialist training at Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine between 1989 and 1993.

His scientific and clinical work focuses on vitreoretinal surgery, cataract surgery and excimer laser treatments. He has worked at Vizyon Eye Hospital since 2006.

He speaks advanced English. He is married and has two children.
Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine
Education:
Born in 1965 in the Mut district of Mersin, he attended Konya Anatolian High School and graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. Ranking seventh nationally in the Medical Specialisation Examination held in 1989, he was admitted to Ege University’s Department of Ophthalmology in 1994.
His scientific articles have been published in Turkish and international journals. He carried out scientific work at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and Tulane University in the United States, working with world-renowned vitreoretinal surgeon Gholam Peyman. In 1997, he served alongside his wife Efsane CENGİZ at the eye clinic of Mersin Diabetes Hospital. He has worked at Vizyon Eye Hospital since 2006 as a founding partner and remains chairman of its board. An amateur mountaineer, he also carries out organic agricultural production on his own farm in Arslanköy.

Born in Mersin in 1970, he graduated from Mersin Tevfik Sırrı Gür High School in 1987. He completed his medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1994 and his ophthalmology training at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1998. He completed his compulsory service at Mut State Hospital between 1998 and 2000.
He worked at Mersin Diabetes Hospital between 2000 and 2006. He has worked at Vizyon Eye Hospital since June 2006.

Education:
Dr Efsane Hoşbaht Cengiz graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine and completed her ophthalmology specialist training in its Department of Ophthalmology.
After nine years of service at the Diabetes Hospital, she helped establish Vizyon Göz to further improve the quality of ophthalmic care. She has served as Medical Director in Vizyon Eye Hospital’s experienced medical team since May 2006.
Her particular focus is medical retina, cataract and glaucoma surgery, as well as aesthetic eye procedures and diabetic eye damage.
She was one of the founding doctors of the ophthalmology department at Mersin Diabetes Hospital, where she began working as head of the Eye Unit in 1997. She offered patients modern approaches to eye disease treatment and advanced surgical techniques. She made significant contributions to the introduction of laser technology and phacoemulsification methods for treatment in Mersin.

Education:
Fatih Baltu was born in Adana in 1988. He graduated from Danışment Gazi Anatolian High School in 2006. After graduating from Erciyes University in 2013, Dr Fatih Baltu undertook ophthalmology specialist training at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2018. He has worked at Vizyon Eye Hospital since 2021.

Mustafa Kemal University Faculty of Medicine
Education:
Dr İdil GÖKSEL was born in the İskenderun district of Hatay in 1983. She completed her medical education with distinction at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 2007, earning the title of Doctor of Medicine. She specialised in ophthalmology at Mersin University Faculty of Medicine between 2008 and 2013. In 2013–2014, she established a fully equipped eye clinic at Kars Kağızman State Hospital and treated over 2,000 surgical cases before beginning work in private hospitals.
Dr İdil Göksel worked at Vizyon Eye Hospital from 2014 to 2016. Between 2016 and 2023, she worked in private hospitals equipped with advanced technology in Istanbul, Sakarya, Mersin, Tarsus and Baku, developing her professional experience in Türkiye and abroad. She currently continues her practice at Vizyon Eye Hospital. Throughout her ophthalmology career, she has conducted numerous clinical studies nationally and internationally and published scientific articles.
