How can you recognise dry eye?
Dry eyes often cause a gritty, dry sensation and excessive watering. This is caused by blockages in the oil-producing glands in the eyelids. The lack of oil causes the water in tears to evaporate faster than normal.

Dry eye disease is a common condition that occurs when your tears cannot provide adequate lubrication for your eyes. Tears may be insufficient or unstable for many reasons. For example, dry eye may occur if you do not produce enough tears or produce poor-quality tears. This tear instability leads to inflammation and damage to the surface of the eye.
Dry eyes cause discomfort. Your eyes may sting or burn. You may experience dry eyes in certain situations, such as on an aeroplane, in an air-conditioned room, while cycling or after looking at a computer screen for several hours.
Dry eyes may also cause a gritty, dry sensation and excessive watering. This is caused by blockages in the oil-producing glands in the eyelids. The lack of oil causes the water in tears to evaporate faster than normal.
In particular, 9 out of 10 cases of dry eye symptoms are caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction.
Dry eye treatments can make you more comfortable. These treatments may include lifestyle changes and eye drops. You will probably need to continue these measures indefinitely to control dry eye symptoms.
Using JetPlasma or IPL treatment, we can target the cause of MGD rather than manage its symptoms, providing relief for the patient. The treatments deliver gentle pulses of heat and pressure to clear blocked glands, along with precise light waves that allow your tear glands to function normally again.
In general, depending on the severity of the patient’s dry eye, these treatments are highly effective and, above all, painless.
In particular, 90% of dry eye patients benefit from the treatments provided. They may be a solution if dry eyes affect your daily life. If you have been unable to undergo laser eye surgery because of dry eye syndrome, your doctor may recommend laser eye surgery if your dry eye problem resolves after these treatments.
In severe cases, your doctor may recommend additional treatments.
You should therefore plan to use dry eye treatments such as artificial tears during therapy. Your doctor can provide more details about the recommendations for your particular situation.
